Pediatric Research Symposium Abstracts Deadline Approaching

Mark your calendars and plan your schedules for the upcoming third annual Pediatric Science Days at Saint Louis University April 15- 17 will be held at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center (Danis Auditorium).

Our Visiting Professor for Pediatric Science Days 2009 is Dr. Alan Jobe, a research neonatologist at Cincinnati Children's Hospital with an international reputation in the field of neonatl lung biology and inflammation.

The primary purpose of this research symposium is to provide a scientific forum for faculty and trainees to present pediatric-related research to their colleagues and peers in a supportive environment, and to promote interactions and collaborative efforts. The presentation formats for the symposium will be 10 minute platform talks or posters.

All (basic science or clinical faculty, fellows, post-docs, residents, students) who are involved in clinical, translational, basic science or outcomes research related to pediatrics are invited to submit an abstract representative of their work. This invitation includes faculty at any campus at Saint Louis University. Abstracts may be the same as or similar to those submitted for presentation (or presented) at a regional or national research meeting, or they may be entirely new. Acceptance for presentation may be limited in the event of an overwhelming response, based on time limitations.

Please note that the deadline for the receipt of these abstracts (electronic submission only) is 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15. Acceptance status of submitted abstracts will be e-mailed to corresponding authors at the end of February.

Please direct any questions or requests for abstract forms to Joyce Koenig, M.D., (314) 977-9291 or koenijm@slu.edu.

We encourage undergraduate, graduate, and medical students to inquire about summer research positions. Please contact Dr. Koenig for further information.
