Remote Internships — SLU Experiential Learning Program

Participate in a remote internship from day one! Organizations offer these project-based, short-term internships and, therefore, do not have a minimum credit requirement.

Patrice Burns graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in communications and Spanish. She studied for a year at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid as an undergrad and has lived and worked in both the U.S. and Spain since then. After receiving her M.A. in Spanish from Marquette University, she worked as a center director at Concordia University and as director of foreign languages at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee SCE. She joined SLU-Madrid in 2007 and serves as the career services coordinator, helping students prepare for their careers via hands-on workshops and internship experiences. She also provides career counseling to graduates and manages alumni relations.

Anamaría was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a semester abroad at Madrid's Conservatorio Superior de Danza "María de Ávila" (CSDMA), she understands the power of following your passions across borders. After graduation, she worked in fundraising, supporting school communities and helping them reach their financial goals. In 2019, Anamaría returned to Madrid as an English teaching assistant, where she had the privilege of working in various concertado and private schools across the city. She earned a master's degree in Global Higher Education from Instituto Franklin – Universidad de Alcalá in 2025. Anamaría joined SLU-Madrid in July 2025 as a Career Services Assistant, focusing on helping students explore meaningful professional paths with purpose and intentionality.
