Events for Parents and Families
Volunteer or connect with other Billiken Parent and Family Association (BPFA) members at events on the Saint Louis University campus throughout the year.
BPFA Trivia Night
On behalf of the Office of Parent and Family Engagement and the Billiken Parent and Family Association, we invite you to the 16th Annual Trivia Night/Silent Auction on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. We will also have the option for families to participate virtually.
For $200, you may purchase your whole team’s "table." This ticket allows you to enter up to eight email addresses for your other teammates. If more than eight emails are used for a team, your team will not qualify to win the trivia night cash prize. A single ticket costs $25; a single ticket is for one email address per family, $15 discounted single tickets are available for current students (valid SLU email address may be required). This allows the guest to join others to create a full team.
The proceeds from the silent auction will support Billiken Families for programming, resources, and outreach while their students are attending Saint Louis University.
The theme is Candyland and participants are in for a real treat! This event will satisfy your sweet tooth with guaranteed sugar-filled fun. There will be games, prizes, a chance to win money, good libations for purchase, and loads of fun.
Trivia Night FAQs
Please contact us at bpfa@slu.edu with any questions or concerns.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at the Busch Student Center on SLU's campus. Parking is available in Laclede Garage, located at the northwest corner of Grand Boulevard and Laclede Avenue.
Beer and wine are available for purchase. Soda and water are complimentary. In-person guests are encouraged to bring their food to share at their tables.
If this is your first Trivia night or your fifth, you may know about the legendary table decors that participants whip up to show off their creative, fun side. While the braggin' rights are often prize enough we will have a prize for this winner.

Oh, so many prizes! The first-place team in-person team. Trivia will earn $250! Best decorating prize $100.
The Play Pass makes each team eligible for the Table Decor prize. A 50/50 Raffle Ticket enters each team into the drawing for a prize of 50 percent of the proceeds raised through the ticket sales (cash prize will not be received the night of the event).
Silent Auction: Bids will begin for the silent auction items on the morning of March 24, 2025, and will end at 8:30 p.m. during the event.

SLU 101
Incoming students and families will transition into Billikens during SLU's student and family orientation. BPFA members engage with incoming families both at the resource fair and during orientation activities.
Fall Welcome Family Hospitality Headquarters
Along with campus partners, the BPFA welcomes all incoming families and assists in their transition to SLU. Find tables with BPFA representatives and those from other departments at the hospitality headquarters, along with giveaways, refreshments, beverages, and a space to relax during their move-in process.
Programs are also instituted for high-touch students, first-generation students, students of color, and identity-based organizations.
Homecoming and Family Weekend
Homecoming and Family Weekend is a combined weekend to celebrate both SLU alumni and current Billiken families. This is an event for Billiken parents and family members — whether they graduated from SLU or not — to join students on campus for several days of fun.
The purpose of this joint weekend:
- For current families to visit their students on campus for the weekend
- For alumni to commemorate and celebrate their time here at Saint Louis University
- For families to experience Saint Louis University through their students' eyes
- And so much more
The schedule typically includes events including a movie on the Quad, faculty presentations, campus tours, a service project, a Billikens soccer game and fireworks.
Visit the Homecoming and Family Weekend page for more information.
Career Expo
The Career Expo is an annual event that provides students with hundreds of opportunities to meet possible employers without having to leave campus. BPFA aids students with their confidence before meeting employers.
Examples of duties for the Career Expo include: giving mints or refreshments to students, allowing students to fix their hair in a mirror before meeting employers, providing professional photos for students, helping with check-in students to the expo, and offering encouragement to students through the process.
Wellness Days
The University's designated wellness days are an opportunity for parents on the volunteer committee work at the BPFA table and help promote well-being and wellness activities across campus to students. Examples include handing out self-care bags to students, creating a safe space for students on campus or hosting a wellness event.
Graduation Table
The BPFA celebrates SLU's graduates during their ceremonies by giving out pens to parents and family members that say “Proud of my Billiken” and supporting families who are present.
Volunteer at Welcome and Preview Events
There are numerous events throughout the year — in and outside of St. Louis — that welcome potential students and parents to our Billiken Family. If you are enthusiastic, friendly and interested in helping parents feel secure about their decisions before, during and after their student transitions to SLU, this is the perfect opportunity for you. To get involved, email bpfa@slu.edu or click below to search for volunteer opportunities.
Billiken Family Fan Fest
Typically, each year we invite Billiken families onto campus to socialize at pregame celebrations before attending men's and women's basketball games at Chaifetz Arena.
Unfortunately, we will not be hosting this event in 2025. It is our desire to bring back this event next year.
