One-Time Volunteer Opportunities

Saint Louis University’s Center for Social Action promotes many forms of community engagement, from episodic service to more in-depth involvement. This list of one-time volunteer opportunities will help SLU students, faculty or staff make a difference based on your schedule and interests. Many are perfect for groups.

Summer

St. Louis Tornado Relief Efforts

What: Volunteers are needed to assist with clean-up, recovery, and supply distribution events throughout North St. Louis in the wake of the May 16 tornado.
When: Shifts available every day - see signups below.

KidSmart St. Louis

What: Volunteers are needed during Missouri’s Tax-Free Weekend for a high-energy, community-driven supply drive. Volunteers will be stationed outside a Walmart of their choice, handing out flyers and encouraging shoppers to donate school supplies.
When:  Anytime Friday, Aug. 1 or Saturday, Aug. 2 (three-hour shifts available)

Gateway Arch Park Foundation

What: Volunteers are needed for a Gateway Arch Riverfront Clean-Up, helping keep the grounds near the river clean.
When: 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, August 8; either 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 4:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 9; either 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., 2:30- 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 10

Forward Through Ferguson

What: Volunteers are needed for the St. Louis Racial Equity Summit, helping with all aspects of this regional conference on racial justice including registration, info tables, greeting, hall monitoring and more.
When:  4-hour shifts available anytime 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8 or Saturday, Aug. 9
