Tutoring

Tutoring at Saint Louis University assists and supports students who would like to strengthen their understanding of course material. Whether you feel lost in lectures or want to review before an exam, our tutors are great resources. Each tutor is a SLU student who has taken and done well in the class they are tutoring, so they can help both with course content and strategies for success in class.

Academic Support offers tutoring for a wide variety of classes. The full list of classes with tutoring is featured below.

Tutoring appointments are scheduled through EAB Navigate. Each student can schedule up to two tutoring appointments per week. Please note: any student with three no-shows will be blocked from making future tutoring appointments in EAB Navigate and must contact tutoring.SI@slu.edu to be reinstated.

What To Know Before You Attend Tutoring

  • Arrive on time and bring any relevant course materials.
  • Be as specific as possible about your goals for the session. It's helpful if you have questions or problems to review, but you can also prioritize concepts you want to work on.
  • Tutors may discuss notes and lecture material or review/model sample problems, but they cannot assist with graded assignments.
  • Be an active participant. Communicate with your tutor, ask questions, and tell them what you need. Your participation is vital, and you are responsible for your learning.
  • Failure to act in accordance with community standards will result in a loss of tutoring privileges.
